Our founder was the late G Kandasamy, a prominent, life-long dedicated unionist and social worker. He held various positions, as Secretary-General of the Amalgamated Union of Public Employees (AUPE). a Member of Parliament and as Deputy Speaker of Parliament.

The Society was formed to help Indians who want to help themselves or those who are not financially well off through mutual help and assistance. By being a member, you will be able to help our less fortunate Indians in the lower income groups, performing two jobs to make ends meet, some financial assistance towards their children’s education. By your membership the Co-operative will have the source of funds to reach out to these Indians by providing easy loans up to $30,000 at affordable interest rates. Profits arising from these co-operative investments will b ploughed back to members and their children by way if dividends, scholarship and study awards.

In Feb 2007, it enlarged its corporate citizenry role to help deserving individuals/families in terms of financial assistance and other non-monetary help through its Fragrance Fund.
